John S. Esposito
John S. Esposito graduated cum laude from St. John’s University in May of 1981 and earned his Juris Doctorate from Fordham University School of Law in May of 1984, receiving the prestigious C. Bainbridge Smith Scholarship a year prior to graduation. He is admitted to practice in the states of New York and New Jersey, and has had extensive experience in criminal defense, having represented the accused in high-profile cases such as the “NBC Shooting”/Dan Rather Assault, the Harvey Weinstein Kidnapping, and the Amy Fischer Attempted Murder.
In his distinguished criminal law career, Mr. Esposito has been an assistant district attorney for the New York County District Attorney’s Office, during which he was responsible for the investigation and prosecution of major felonies and conducted over one hundred and twenty five Grand Jury presentations, trying over twenty-five cases to verdict, as well as a criminal court supervisor whose duties included the supervision of eighteen Criminal Court Assistants with a combined caseload of approximately one thousand cases. In addition, Mr. Esposito has acted as counsel to the New York State Court Officer’s Union and the National Development and Research Institutes, as well as assistant to Senator Abraham Bernstein. Most recently, Mr. Esposito has been a founding partner of Alello, Cannick & Esposito, a firm specializing in criminal litigation, and In-house counsel to AnythingIT, a technology asset management company. Mr. Esposito has also appeared on Court TV as a guest commentator.
